Week #10

Dear Family and Friends,

Another fantastic week under the belt. I am still loving the mission and the people that we work with. We have dropped quite a few investigators in the last few weeks so we have been working a lot more with members. We always need more referrals from them so we have built our trust up with a ton of members. However we do occasionally have appointments cancel on us so we end up contacting people on the streets.

Me and Elder Allen had a great experience this week while contacting. We just went to a potential investigator's home but they weren't there so we started walking around. We looked across the parking lot at an apartment with a little boy waving at us from the other side of a screen door. We walked over to him and he ran away so we decided to knock on the door and share the gospel with the family that was there. The little boy's mother, named Brittney, came to the door and talked to us for a good 10 or 15 minutes. We shared a little bit of the first lesson with her. She told us that she has wanted to be baptized and that she wants her son to be baptized as well. I told her that we have to teach her a few things before she can get baptized. She was so excited to invite us back and meet again. Brittney is so prepared! I cannot wait to continue working with her and help her come closer to her savior.

I have seen how my Heavenly Father puts prepared people in our path so that we can bring them to the knowledge of this beautiful message. I am so grateful for all the people that have helped me get out on a mission. Love you all and hope you have a stellar week.

Week #9

Dear Family and Friends,

Don't have a ton of time this week but want to share another awesome experience.

As me and my companion, Elder Allen, were walking through an apartment complex, I felt SO prompted to go and knock on one specific door. I thought to myself, "I am going to baptize a family from knocking on this door!" We knocked the door and waited for someone to answer. No one did so I knocked again. When no one came after the third knock I was confused. Why was I sent here to this door if no one was going to answer.

Then I thought that maybe I was off by one door. So we went to the next door over and once again, no answer. I was a little bit frustrated. On our way back to the car, we came in contact with a lady that was looking for a church to join. She was on her way to her apartment from picking up her kids from school. I realized that without being led to the "wrong" door, we would not have been able to find this individual.

Our Father in Heaven always knows the best path for us to take in order to get us to the best destination. We always need to heed to the words of our Heavenly Father. What a blessing it is to have a prophet here on the earth today. I can't wait to hear what the Lord wants me to hear from the prophet at General Conference. I want to invite everyone to watch Conference. I know that we will all be given guidance from God through the mouth of a living prophet.

I love you all so much and hope that you are doing well. Have a great week!

Week #8

Dear Family and Friends,

Time is flying by way too fast! I can't believe that transfers are tomorrowSeptember 16th! My first transfer over! I love the area I am in now and love my whole district! Luckily no one is going anywhere!

I want to share an awesome experience that I had with an investigator named Stacey. So earlier this week we were teaching her about the Holy Ghost and the role that it plays in answering our prayers. We focused specifically on praying to know if the Book of Mormon is true. Before we invited her to pray to know if the Book of Mormon was true, she said that she always felt good when she was reading it. She hadn't realized that the spirit was witnessing to her that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. However, she wasn't sure if it was all true. So we asked her if she had prayed to know if it was the word of God. Stacey told us that she had not yet done this. So we invited her to do so. She committed to ask her Father in Heaven if it was in fact true.

Later that week we made a quick stop by and asked if she had already asked the big question. Stacey said that she did pray and that she knows that Book of Mormon is true. As soon as we started talking about the Book of Mormon, her face lit up and she couldn't stop smiling!

Such a cool experience to see her come to know the truthfulness of the gospel.

I am loving it here in Ohio and I know for a FACT that this is where God wants me to be. It is important for all of us to constantly ask ourselves, "am I where my Father in Heaven wants me to be?" and I know that if we get to where he needs or wants us, blessings will come. I have seen it in my life and I want all of you to see it in your own lives. I love you all so much. So grateful for all of your testimonies! Don't be afraid to share them!
